I am Virusha Gowrie, a qualified Hatha and transformational Yoga teacher, this has been my passion for years and has now become my way of life. In fact, by practicing yoga, I have learned to be more present in my everyday life. This requires constant checking in and dedication to still the mind. My advice.... Connection to sensations in the body while in an asana(pose). Become aware of your surroundings, connect of groundedness on your mat, and surrender to the feeling of resistance in certain parts of the body. Let your gentle breath and sensations through your body be your teacher, the mind tends to become more interested on what is happening in the body.   

Practice for myself and others is gentle, profound, connective, sometimes playful, and integrative. 

Yoga has been gaining immense popularity due to short-term as well as long-term benefits that it provides. The aims of yoga enthusiasts are extremely varied. Some are particularly inspired by the spiritual and relaxing element that yoga provides, others by the increased fitness, strength, and flexibility that it results in. Some people find solutions to suffering from varied health disorders and others achieve an all-round development of a calm, stress-free mind and a strong body. 

It has been the subject of research for the past few decades for its therapeutic purposes for modern epidemic diseases like mental stress, depression, obesity, diabetes, hypertension, and chronic diseases. 

Yoga in fact means the "Union" of individual consciousness with the supreme consciousness. The goal of yoga shows that it is a holistic way of life, leading to a state of complete physical, social, mental, and spiritual well-being and harmony with nature and all surroundings. Yoga is effective in prevention as well as management of stress and stress induced disorders. 

Training of yoga asanas(poses) and pranayama(breath-work) for a few months, 1 hr everyday can develop a sense of well being. There are many types of yoga, Hatha yoga is combination of many styles and one of the most popular styles that I teach.   Wouldn't it be beautiful to drift out of work or home and connect to yourself, creating a deep oneness with body and mind.
